ENCINO, CA – MARCH 1, 2011 - FPA Technology Services, Inc., the leading full service IT Services and Support firm in the Los Angeles area, announced that it has recently completed working with Intel® in their vPro™ Pilot Program. Within this program, Intel partners with select Managed Service Providers to install and configure “seed” workstations, provided by Intel, for several clients and then testing and analyzing the performance results of the machines.
Intel® Core™ vPro™technology is a set of security and manageability capabilities built into the 2nd generation Intel Core vPro processor family, Intel® chipsets, and network adapters which gives greater management capabilities further driving down the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership). This technology integrates with currently used software and gives FPA capabilities such as remotely connecting and rebooting workstations that have been powered down or are “frozen”. It also allows FPA to run diagnostics remotely, redirect booting up of the workstation from a virtual hard drive, and image a workstation remotely. This functionality greatly improves FPA’s remote management and administration of client networks resulting in improved response to failure, meeting shorter recovery time objectives, as well as providing the ability to decrease power consumption.
“Intel’s vPro technology gives us another significant tool in our ongoing quest to improve our service delivery and markedly decrease costs for our clients”, said Craig Pollack, Founder & CEO of FPA. “There are too many great things to say about this technology. Participating in the Intel Pilot Program allowed us to share the benefits of these machines with clients at no cost to them. This was clearly a win-win situation. Going forward, we’ll be hard pressed to ever install another workstation without this technology.”
FPA provides remote monitoring, alerting, and patch management as well as complete proactive network management, remote end-user support, and complete server restore and disaster recovery – all available at fixed fees. This technology and service delivery model allows FPA to deliver enhanced remote network support services while reducing the need for more costly and time-consuming onsite visits. FPA’s managed service clients experience higher network uptime, reduced network issues, and lower long-term IT support costs.
